AAMA (American Manufacturers' Association)
The Fenestration & Glazing Industry Alliance (formerly AAMA and IGMA) is internationally recognized for the development of stringent performance standards. Every window and door that boasts FGIA certification undergoes extensive independent testing for resistance to water penetration, air infiltration, structural loads and impact, as well as insulated glass seal durability.
ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)
ASTM is a not-for-profit organization that provides a forum for the development and publication of voluntary consensus standards for materials, products, systems and services. In over 130 varied industry areas, ASTM standards serve as a basis for manufacturing, procurement, and regulatory activities. ASTM International provides standards that are accepted in research and development, product testing and quality systems.
Energy Star Program
ENERGY STAR is a program run by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) that promotes energy efficiency. It is designed to assist consumers in the recognition of energy efficient products and champion the environmental and economic benefits of these products through the ENERGY STAR label and other activities. NFRC (National Fenestration Rating Council)
The NFRC (National Fenestration Rating Council) establishes test criteria that set the standards for performance ratings for manufacturers of window and door products. The NFRC is a non-profit, public/private organization created by the window, door and skylight industry. It is comprised of manufacturers, suppliers, builders, architects and designers, specifiers, code officials, utilities and government agencies. NFRC provides consistent ratings on window, door and skylight products. The primary goal of the NFRC is to provide accurate information on the energy performance of these products.
USGBC (U.S. Green Building Council)
The U.S. Green Building Council is a non-profit organization committed to a prosperous and sustainable future for our nation through cost-efficient and energy-saving green buildings.
